KHNA will be offering a limited number of scholarships sponsored by individuals
for the full duration of the course. You should be in the first year of the
academic program to be eligible to apply for these scholarships.
In addition to the regular scholarships KHNA plans to award one-time financial
assistance to a few deserving students pursuing professional degree
programs. Non-first year students are also eligible for these awards. Use
the "New Scholarship Application Form" to apply for these awards. If you are a
first year student you will be automatically considered for full scholarships.
All those who could not be awarded full scholarships will be considered for
one-time financial assistance. The award amount will be determined by the
scholarship committee depending on the donations raised and the financial need
of the student. You need to submit only one application form for consideration
for both full scholarships and financial assistances.
ELIGIBILITY:

Student should be currently enrolled in a post-Higher Secondary course leading
to a professional degree program such as Engineering, Medicine, Dentistry,
Nursing or Pharmacology. Online or correspondence courses will not be considered
for scholarships.

Combined annual income of the student and the student's parents or guardians
should not exceed Indian Rupees 50,000.00.

Applicants should have scored at least 85% aggregate marks in the Higher
Secondary level (12th Standard) examination.
The following items should be submitted with the application:

Income certificate showing annual income from all sources.

An essay of up to 3 pages written by the student on the topic "Relevance of Gita in the life of a student”.
The essay may be written in English or Malayalam. (Note: Your scholarship selection is not based
on the quality or content of the essay. This requirement is included to raise
social awareness. Applications without the essay are rejected outright. Do not
send essays written by others.)

A letter from the student explaining the financial need. Submit income details
of all family members.

Attested copy of the mark list.

A recent passport size photograph.

Proof of admission to a professional degree program.

A recommendation letter from a local Hindu community organization.
RENEWALS:
KHNA scholarship recipients of previous years may apply for renewal using the
renewal application form above. If you have received a letter from the
scholarship committee please send the application to the address provided in the
letter.
The following items should be submitted with the renewal application:

Mail cannot be sent by Registered post or Courier services to Post Box
addresses.
DEADLINE: The applications must reach KHNA on or before
January 31, 2012
Completed applications must be received by KHNA on or before the deadline.
Incomplete applications shall not be considered. Students will be selected by
the scholarship committee based on their proven eligibility and financial need.
KHNA will notify selected applicants individually and the list will be published
on the scholarship website.
